POETIC SCAPE will host ODASAKU, an exhibition by Daido Moriyama, from February 15 to March 5.
Daido Moriyama: Odasaku is a book born from dialogue: photographs taken in Osaka by Moriyama set alongside At the Horse Races, a short story by Sakunosuke Oda—known as Odasaku—a pivotal voice of the Burai-ha literary movement. Within the book’s intimate space, image and text lean toward one another, colliding, echoing, and subtly reshaping their meanings.
Marking the publication of the book, the exhibition ODASAKU unfolds this conversation in physical form. Words drawn from Oda’s story meet Moriyama’s photographs, silkscreen-printed especially for the exhibition, allowing literature and photography to share a single breath, suspended together in space.
Saturday, March 4, 2017 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
