Profile

Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1983. Graduated from the Department of Photography at Tokyo Visual Arts.
Through photography, he seeks to capture what cannot be seen with the eye—life and death, time, and traces of presence. Printing in his own darkroom, he spends long hours in dialogue with the images, giving form to bundles of time and particles of air in a three-dimensional expression.

Major publications include Boundary Line 13 (Akakasha, 2008), Sasurai (abp, 2008), THE HINOKI Yuhki Touyama 2016–2017 (THE HINOKI, 2017), and Ultranationalism: Troubled Youth and Nationalism (written by Takeshi Nakajima, photography by Yuhki Touyama, Chikumashobo, 2018).
