Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1983. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art and Design, Tokyo Zokei University, majoring in painting, in 2007. Received an M.F.A. in Intermedia Art from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2015. In 2018, while a doctoral candidate at Tokyo University of the Arts, she undertook research in the UK as a recipient of the Pola Art Foundation Overseas Research Grant. Completed the doctoral program at the same graduate school in 2022. Through the principles of photography, she seeks to make visible the memories embedded in objects.
Major solo exhibitions include “Slow Glass—The Mirror, the Window, and the Door” at Pola Museum Annex (Tokyo, 2025); “HIRAKU Project Vol.16: Nozomi Suzuki ‘The Mirror, the Window, and the Telescope’” at Atrium Gallery, Pola Museum of Art (Kanagawa, 2024); and “Words of Light” at Dai-ichi Life Gallery (Tokyo, 2024).
Major group exhibitions include “Latent Scenery” at Arts Maebashi (Gunma, 2022); “Photographs of Innocence and of Experience: Contemporary Japanese Photography, vol. 14” at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (2017); and “NEW VISION SAITAMA 5: The Emerging Body” at The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama (2016).
In 2025, she received the New Photographer Award at the 41st Higashikawa Photo Award. In 2016, she received the VOCA Encouragement Award at “The Vision of Contemporary Art 2016 (VOCA Exhibition).”
In 2022, she published the artist’s book “LIGHT OF OTHER DAYS”(rin art association).
Her works are included in the collections of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Arts Maebashi, and other public and private collections.
